What is ShopBird?
ShopBird answers one question: when a shopper asks an AI assistant what to buy, are you chosen? PositionBird measures whether AI engines mention and cite your store. StatusBird measures whether your store and its dependencies are up. ShopBird sits between them and checks the outcome that matters at the point of sale: the recommendation itself, and whether the assistant described your product correctly.
ShopBird is not a checklist or a readiness score. It runs live queries through the same engine APIs PositionBird already uses and judges the actual answers. The result is a weekly record of what AI assistants told shoppers about your store, verified against your catalog.
How ShopBird works
- Generate buyer-intent queries from your catalog. ShopBird reads your bestsellers and writes the questions shoppers ask AI: best-of asks with real price ceilings, a brand trust check such as "is this brand legit to buy from?", and price checks tied to specific products. You can add your own queries. Growth plans track 15 shopping queries; Scale plans track 30.
- Send five AI engines shopping every week. Each query is asked multiple times across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI results, because a single AI answer is statistical noise. Alerts fire only when a pattern holds across samples.
- Judge every answer. An LLM judge extracts a structured verdict from each answer: were you found, at what rank were you recommended, which competitor won if you were not, and does the stated price and stock match your live Shopify product data. Shopify product data is read through the read-only products permission PositionBird already holds; it never reads orders or customers.
- Hash-stamp the evidence. Every captured answer is stored with a SHA-256 hash and a UTC timestamp, so any record can be re-verified later as an untampered copy of what the assistant said and when.
- Alert on regressions. When you lose a query you used to win, or an engine starts misquoting your price or stock, ShopBird sends a debounced alert with the exact answer that got it wrong.
