Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: July 31, 2026
StatusBird LLC ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to making the statusbird.io website and the StatusBird monitoring service accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Reliable alerts matter most in stressful moments, and we want every store owner to be able to use them regardless of ability or the assistive technology they rely on.
1. Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
2. Measures We Take
Accessibility is considered throughout the design and development of StatusBird. Measures we take include:
- Semantic HTML: Pages use meaningful headings, landmarks, and native controls so screen readers can navigate the site.
- Keyboard access: Core flows, including signup, login, the dashboard, and account settings, are designed to be operable with a keyboard alone.
- Color and contrast: Status indicators do not rely on color alone; status is always conveyed with text labels alongside color, and we aim for sufficient contrast between text and backgrounds.
- Text alternatives: Informative images and icons carry alternative text or accessible labels.
- Responsive design: Pages reflow at different zoom levels and viewport sizes without loss of content or functionality.
- Multiple alert channels: Downtime alerts can be delivered by email, SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Discord, so you can choose the channel that works best for you.
3. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:
- Some charts and uptime graphs are visual in nature. We are working to improve their text alternatives; the underlying data is available in tabular or text form on history pages.
- Some third-party content we embed or link to (for example, payment checkout pages operated by Stripe or Shopify) is outside our direct control. We rely on those providers' own accessibility practices.
- Older blog posts may contain images without complete alternative text. We fix these as we find them.
4. Compatibility
StatusBird is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech recognition software. The site does not require a specific device or operating system.
5. Feedback and Assistance
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of StatusBird. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or if you need any part of the Service in an alternative format, please contact us:
- Email: support@statusbird.io
- Contact form: statusbird.io/contact
Please describe the problem, the page where it occurred, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to fix confirmed barriers as quickly as we reasonably can.
6. Ongoing Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We review new features for accessibility before release, periodically audit existing pages, and update this statement as our conformance status changes.
7. Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may escalate it by emailing admin@statusbird.io with the subject line "Accessibility Complaint" and we will review it at the company level.
