Why we built this

In 2024, a Shopify store running a flash sale lost $4,000 in revenue during a 45-minute Stripe outage. Ads kept running the whole time. The first indication anything was wrong came from a customer email asking why checkout wasn't working.

That story isn't unusual. It happens to stores of every size, every week. And the frustrating part isn't that the outage happened — third-party services go down. The frustrating part is that it was completely preventable. A two-minute warning would have been enough to pause the ads, add a banner, and save the sale.

StatusBird exists to be that two-minute warning. We monitor the 84 services your store depends on — payment processors, marketing platforms, shipping carriers, ad networks — and text you the moment something changes. Before the first abandoned cart. Before the first customer complaint.
